Is your computer showing either of the errors above?
The latest Windows update doesn’t work with SQL 2008 that some older computers are using. Our POS system requires the updated SQL.
Here’s how to install the more recent SQL 2014:
- Check if you have SQL 2008. You can see this in Installed Programsin your computer’s Control Panel.
- Close the POS.
- Download this file:
https://download.microsoft.com/download/2/A/5/2A5260C3- 4143-47D8-9823-E91BB0121F94/ SQLEXPR_x64_ENU.exe - Run the file.
- Click OK on the Choose Directory for Extracted Files dialog.
- In the Installation tab, click “Upgrade from SQL Server 2005,SQL Server 2008,SQL Server 2008 R2 or SQL Server 2012”.
- Check “I accept the license terms”.
- Make sure Instance to Upgrade is set to “ENTIREONESQL”.
- Wait for the installation to complete. It should take about 10 minutes; if it takes longer, your computer probably needs an upgrade.
- Restart the POS.
