Customer Accounts*

Customers can be applied at any time during a sale or before checkout. The Customer tab consists of two buttons: The top icon part opens the customer profile page. The bottom word part searches for a customer and attaches it to the sale without taking you out of your current page.

1. Select Customer at the top or press F7 on your keyboard.

2. Search using any information you have: last name, first name, phone, or last 4 digits of the phone number.

Note: The more you enter in the search, the easier it is to narrow down the results. However, if you input extra info, such as a dash (-) in a phone number but the customer is saved without a dash, it won't come up. You also can't mix fields in your search. Therefore, depending on your style it could be preferable to enter as little information as possible and select the correct result from the list.

If the customer is not in the system, your administrator can set it to automatically create a new one when you exit the search results. Otherwise, press Add in the results popup.

Applied Customer Settings

Once a customer is applied to a transaction, any price rules set up for the customer in the backend will be applied:

  • If the customer is tax exempt, tax will not be applied.
  • If the customer has a discount account, items in the sale will be green and the discount will be applied.
  • Different price levels, such as wholesalers, teachers, kallahs, shluchim, family, etc. will be applied as well.

Customer Details

The Customer module shows many details about the customer, including transaction history, credit cards on file, addresses, pricing rules and memos.

You can even block a customer using the Status dropdown.
