POS Configurations*

Customize your POS settings by selecting the Configurations icon (⚙) at the bottom of the POS.

Interface

Focus Customer on New Sale = Every time you start a new sale, the cursor will be in the customer field
Global Customers Enabled = Pulls customers from the entire First Choice eco system
Popup Customer Notes on Select = If the customer has a note on his profile, it will pop up when the customer is selected
Search Customer on Local DB = Pulls customers from the local computer instead of the web; useful for when the internet is down or to speed up loading time
Required Customer Fields = Select which fields are mandatory when creating a customer

POS Checkout Sales Reps Enabled = Gives an option to select a sales rep for every sale
POS Checkout Sales Reps Required = Requires a sales rep to be selected for every sale
Enable Return Policy Enforcement = Requires original transaction info to process return (transaction number or receipt scan or customer, etc.)
Update Transaction Date on POS Close = If you start a transaction and put it on hold, it will update the date when you reopen the transaction
Return Days Limit = Set within how many days returns are allowed

Global Items Enabled = Pulls items from the entire First Choice eco system
Auto Reset Return Mode = Returns the next item scanned and then reverts back to regular checkout
Search Lookup Code Trimmed =
Search Lookup Code Trimmed Left = Drops the first character from the scanned barcode
Search Lookup Code Trimmed Right = Drops the last character from the scanned barcode
Combine Same Item in Single Row = Adds the item to the existing row of the same item and increases the quantity instead of adding it to its own separate row
Bring Row to Bottom = When an item is combined with an existing row, the row is moved to the bottom of the list
Reduce Qty by Minus = Allows you to remove the quantity of an item by hitting minus
Keep Original Scanned SKU on Entry =

Exclude Lookup Codes =
Misc Item Lookup Code = Set the lookup code to enter a miscellaneous item
Item Entry Layout = Set how the item list is displayed in checkout
Upon Not Found = Set what the system should do if an item is not found: open the Finder, quick add, or show a prompt so you can choose what to do

Logout on Every POS Transaction = Useful if each sales rep has their own login

Screen Saver Type = Set what shows on the screen when it’s timed out
Screen Saver Timeout = Set how many seconds it waits before it shows the screensaver
Signout After Idle Time = Signs out after the same amount of time as the screensaver timeout
Auto Restart Every Night at Time = Sets the time it restarts the POS every night
Default Window Zoom Level = Adjusts zoom in the checkout screen (minimum 50, maximum 220)

Enable Printer = Enable or disable the printer
Printer Type = Sets the operating system for the printer; scales use OPOS
Device Name = Select the name of the device
Timeout Second(s) =
Template = Sets the template/layout to print
Printer Mode = Set what the printer should do after a sale: don’t print, prompt you to print, or print without asking
Additional Templates
- Reprint Receipt = To reprint receipt
- Card Receipt = For credit card transactions
- Full Receipt = Regular receipt

Production printers are printers used for service flow, often in food service.

To find the info on the PAX Q30:

Dest IP = Enter password > Communication > Enter password > Go to page 2 and select LAN parameters > On page 1, select IP Address > Copy IP address.
Dest Port = Select Communication > Go to page 2 > Select ECR Communication type > Select Ethernet.
