Install Receipt Printer and Cash Drawer

To set up the receipt printer and the cash drawer with your POS:

I. Install the Driver

  1. Plug the printer into the wall and into the computer. Turn it on.
  2. Go to http://www.starmicronics.com/support/default.aspx?printerCode=futurePRNT. In middle of the page under the Drivers tab, select futurePRNT v7.4 Lite. The driver will download on your computer.



  3. Extract the zip file and select the AutoRun application. If the computer needs to install DirectPlay, install this feature.



  4. When it’s downloaded, select Installation. Click I accept. Run the install wizard until it’s finished. Exit the installer screen.



  5. Open the Control Panel on your computer and select Devices and Printers. Right-click the printer called Star TSP100. Select Printer Properties and click Print Test Page.

II. Connect to POS

  1. Open or restart the POS system.
  2. Go to Management (bottom-left of the POS) > Tools > Station Settings.



  3. Select Receipt Printer. Make sure the checkbox for Enable Receipt Printer is checked. In the Device name dropdown, select Star TSP100 Cutter (TSP143). Copy the device name.



  4. Select Cash Drawer 1. Make sure the checkbox for Enable Cash Drawer 1 is checked. Paste the name of the printer into the Device name field.

  5. Plug the cash drawer cable into the printer and turn it on.
  6. Restart the POS.

Important: If the receipt printer doesn’t have paper, the cash drawer won’t work. Add to FAQs – if cash drawer doesn’t open, check if there’s paper in the receipt printer.
