To set up the email sender for emails from the system (e.g. the email address used to send purchase orders):
- Open your Dashboard.
- Select Setup from the Main Navigation menu on the left.
- Select Setup SMTP.
- Check the box for Custom Email Enabled.
- Input the information for your email.
Email Details
If you’re using Gmail, press the red Gmail Defaults button at the top and it will auto-fill some of the fields. Then follow the Gmail Users instructions at the bottom of the page.
If you’re using a different email host, the port number and whether or not you have SSL will be specified by that email host. If you’re not sure, speak to your system administrator (IT person).
Send From can be a different email address that users will reply to; usually it’s the same.
Multiple Emails
If you want to set up multiple email addresses to send from the system:
- Be sure the emails you want to add are set to allow less secure apps and follow the instructions in the Gmail example above. If you’re not sure, speak to your IT person.
- Submit a support ticket with the information for all the fields listed above (host, username, password, port, SSL, send from).
- Customer support will notify you when the additional emails are set up.
Setup App Password When Enabling Google 2-Step Verification
- Go to your Google Account.
- Select Security.
- Under “Signing in to Google,” select App Passwords. You may need to sign in. If you don’t have this option, it might be because:
- 2-Step Verification is not set up for your account.
- 2-Step Verification is only set up for security keys.
- Your account is through work, school, or other organization.
- You turned on Advanced Protection.
- At the bottom, choose Select app and choose the app you using Select device and choose the device you’re using Generate.
- Follow the instructions to enter the App Password. The App Password is the 16-character code in the yellow bar on your device.
- Tap Done.
- Once the app password is created copy and paste it in to the email password field when setting up sending emails from the POS.
Tip: Most of the time, you’ll only have to enter an App Password once per app or device, so don’t worry about memorizing it.
