Create a Customer


To add a customer to the system:

  1. Open your Dashboard.
  2. Select Customers from the Main Navigation menu on the left.
  3. Select New Customer .
  4. Input General information.
  5. Hit Save  at the top right or CTRL+S.

Customer Tabs

After saving, you will be able to enter additional customer details:

  • Categories associated with this customer, such as VIP buyers, military, teachers, students, teens, new moms, volunteers, upstate list, etc. This is good for price rules and for exporting lists to use in social media and email lists
  • Addresses for the customer (select New Address  on the top right)
    Address auto-completes; pulls up maps and street view
  • Sub Accounts for when there are multiple purchasers in the company, multiple divisions, or any account that has multiple sub-accounts

    When you create an order, you will have the option to select the sub-account

  • Attributes for the customer, such as their contractor and designer

  • Financial information, including:
    • Customer balance (view on the top right of the screen)
    • Accept payment
    • Credit limit, if you want to allow the customer to pay on account (system can be set to start with a standard credit limit for all customers)
    • Tax exempt, such as nonprofit organizations
    • Tax ID number
    • Price level, such as Standard for retail and Price A/B for wholesale
    • Payment terms
    • Price rules that are unique for this customer and not part of a group price rule, such as for family
  • Reports that can be generated for this customer, including these default reports:
    • Account balance tracking
    • Item purchase history
    • Payment list
    • Transaction list
    • Transaction list with aging
    • Transaction payment link
    • Transaction refund link
  • Vouchers (aka gift cards) associated with this customer
  • Print Out of the customer’s statements or invoices
  • Statement of the customer’s transactions and balances; which has different layouts and can be customized based on your business needs
  • Link payments to specific transactions – used when receiving a random sum of money that you need to apply to transactions (details here)
