Import Unlimited Items

JUMP TO: Import ModeMax Errors Allowed | Split Chunk Size | Encoding | Column Info

To import as many items as needed in one shot:

  1. Go to the basic Import page at yourURL.com/import.
  2. Select the Import Type you want (Items, Customers, Suppliers, etc.). Click Get Template. It will show you the columns you need for the upload. Make sure your spreadsheet is set up accordingly, or copy-paste your data into the template.
  3. Drag your .csv file onto the page. Watch your items get imported, created, updated and ready to go!

Import Mode

  • UpdateOnly = The import will only update existing items, not create any new ones.
  • CreateOnly = The import will only create new items, not update any existing ones. This is useful if you already updated items in the system but not the import file, and you don’t want the import to override your updates.

Max Errors Allowed

If you have only a few errors in your data, the upload can process without a problem and you can make changes after. However, if there are too many errors in a sheet, chances are there’s a problem with your data and there’s no point in continuing.

Max Errors Allowed indicates how many errors are allowed on a sheet before the system stops the import.

Split Chunk Size

If your import is very large, you can divide it into several uploads.

For example, for an upload of 50,000 items you can enter 5,000 at a time and it will split the import into 10 chunks of 5,000 each.

Encoding

If you’re having trouble with an import in another language, this dropdown will help you select the appropriate encoding.

Options include UTF-8, Window-1255, ASCII, DOS-862, Hebrew (Mac), IBM424, Hebrew (ISO-Visual), and Hebrew (ISO-Logical).

Column Info

If you’re using a template, the columns in the template will appear under the import box.

The table will tell you:

  • Which columns are required (i.e. without it your data won’t upload)
  • Maximum number of characters allowed in that column
  • Default text if you don’t have data for it
  • Description of what the column means
